Dear Warrior Family,

Time is almost here for us to begin what will be another exciting year at Cottage Hill Christian Academy! The summer is coming to a close and that means that a busy fall schedule awaits us right around the corner. Many times we get so busy we forget why Cottage Hill Christian Academy exist… the best way to remind us is to go back to our Vision Statement;

"To build a Christian school of excellence through Biblical principles so students will come to know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, will develop a Biblical worldview, and will place their lives in God’s hands to impact future generations for Christ."

As we prepare for the fall semester I want to take a moment to give you some key chapel dates that will be vital to the Academy family as we seek to build a school that is set apart to reach and influence our community for Christ.

August 27- Clint Pressly, Pastor Dauphin Way Baptist Church
September 10- Mark Rudd, Youth Pastor, Cottage Hill Baptist Church
September 24- Jeff Spiller, Pastor, Christ United Methodist Church
October 9 & 10, “Campus Impact”, Robbie Robison, Nashville, TN

As always, we encourage parents to take an active part in our chapel program. Consider this an invitation to attend any chapel you wish. Chapels take place every other Wednesday beginning August 20 and start at 8:10 AM. If you have any questions or would like more information please feel free to contact me.

Blessings,
Tommy Hughes
Director of Spiritual Development

This is the absolutely the last date. If you have any problem getting an appointment by this date please let either Mrs. Rutledge or Mrs. Stabler know so that we can help you with this issue.

Grand Bay, AL – Matthew Hall, a student at Cottage Hill Christian Academy and traveled to Australia and New Zealand this summer with the 2008 Ambassadors Abroad program, sponsored by /Lead/America. Matthew earned college credit for his participation.

Matthew and fellow /Lead/America students spent two weeks in Australia and New Zealand. They learned about Australia’s economy and its unique ecological environments, went diving on the Great Barrier Reef and visited the lush Daintree Rainforest. They also enjoyed a harbor tour and a visit to the Sydney Opera House. In New Zealand, students were immersed in the culture of the Maori, one of the world’s most ancient peoples.

Like all /Lead/America high school conferences, Ambassadors Abroad is college-accredited, and students earn up to two college credits for their participation.

Currently Matthew works at Chick-fil-A on Schillinger Road in West Mobile and he is very active in his youth group at North Mobile Baptist Church. He is President of his senior class and hopes to attend Troy University in the Fall of 2009. Matthew believes that this trip will help him in the future as he pursues a international business degree.

“Ambassadors Abroad programs give students a chance to better understand cultural differences and develop a greater appreciation for diversity. International travel and global leadership experience can make an important difference in the lives of teenagers - in their academic and personal performance, in their acceptance to the college of their choice, and in their level of focus, passion and purpose,” says Chris M. Salamone, Esq., Founder and Executive Director of /Lead/America. “Leadership is the key to /what /they do with their lives and /how well /they do it. In today's world, it is imperative that we nurture leadership potential from a very young age.”

Congratulations to Sean Stanley for being named a 2008 National Merit Recipient!

We're excited about our new lunch program! We have contracted with the Tiny Diny to provide a variety of meal choices for our students this year. Each meal will cost $6 and will include a roll and iced tea. Meat entrees will also include two sides.

Students will simply download the menu selection sheet available on this website or pick one up in the office. They will circle their choice(s), fill in blanks, and attach a check or exact change. Forms and money will be given to 1st period teachers each Friday.

Menu selections will change from time to time, so you will want to check this website frequently!
